When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Super Slim Black Bezel
How often do you rearrange the styling of your home? Yearly, quarterly or monthly? If you quickly get tired of your existing decor and constantly update your home's aesthetic, elaborate ceiling lights may not be your partner-in-crime. If your fixtures, especially the ceiling lights, are only suitable for a specific theme, you'll have difficulty incorporating other elements. So, instead, getting a simple downlight like this one is better!
This LED downlight has a circular bezel with a slim profile, making it elegant and chic. Also, it comes with a black finish that pairs well with any decor, furniture pieces, and design scheme. With this, you'll not have a hard time mixing and matching components and will be able to let your creativity shine!
Quick to Install - Loop In and Out Quick Connectors
Complicated installations will cost you money and time. That’s why electricians avoid these fixtures and opt for those with a more straightforward approach - like this LED downlight! Installing this fixture is elementary. It has a screwless terminal and large connectors, allowing an easy loop-in and out connection.
Aside from that, it’s mains powered, so you don’t need to add a driver or transformer to make it work. Just wire it directly to the mains circuit, add a compatible bulb, and you’re good to go! With this, you won’t have to spend so much time on wiring and will be able to move on to the next phases of your project.
Suitable for Solid Joist & I-Joist Ceilings, Fire-Rated to 90 Minutes
Do you need a fire-rated downlight? Won’t a regular recessed ceiling light do? When cutting a hole in your ceiling, its fire integrity weakens. When this happens, if a fire spreads, it will quickly enter through the gaps and travel throughout your ceiling at a quicker rate. A regular downlight cannot completely seal off the hole, but a fire-rated one, like this downlight, can!
It’s fire-rated to 90 minutes of protection, meaning the hole you cut to install your light is resealed, and your ceiling is fortified to extend the time when the fire will spread. In addition, this downlight is suitable for solid joists and I-joists, providing a total fire defence!
Works with a GU10 Bulb
This LED downlight is constructed with a GU10 holder, so you can use it with any GU10 bulb. However, since it's a dimmable fixture, pairing it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch is preferable as it will enable you to utilise its dimming function.
Regarding the GU10 bulb, it comes in three LED colours: cool, natural and warm white light. Cool and natural white light is mainly used for task lighting. The only difference between the two is cool white has a crisp bluish tone, whereas natural white is clear with no hints of yellow or blue. On the other hand, warm white is ideal for ambient lighting since its yellowish shade can help create a relaxing atmosphere!
Insulation Coverable When Paired With a LED Lamp (Max 7w Power)
Some LED downlights are okay to cover with insulation. However, that does not mean you can do it for all kinds of fixtures. Unless it’s clearly stated in the product description, technical specification or the manufacturer’s instruction, never cover your downlights with insulation. Instead of improving the condition of your home, it may be a hazard that will put it at risk!
As for this LED downlight, it’s fine to put insulation over it as long you’re using an LED lamp with a maximum of 7w power. You can still install GU10 bulbs above 7w into this downlight, but please do not cover them with insulation if you choose to.
Dimensions
Do you plan to do the installation yourself? If that’s the case, you need to know the dimensions for this downlight. Otherwise, if you just wing it, there’s a high chance that the fixture will protrude or fall off your ceiling. Both cases are not the end result that you should have!
So, take note, this LED downlight is 84mm tall with an 85mm diameter and requires a 70mm cut-out hole. Be accurate with trimming, and before you cut anything, ensure that you plot and mark first. This will prevent you from making any mistakes. Markings are easier to clean and repair, but patching holes takes more time and effort!
