Fire Rated Downlight GU10 Twist and Lock Fixed - Quick Connector, Loop In/Out - Chrome Finish

This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection for solid joist ceilings and is suitable for web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. This means the hole you cut to install your lights is resealed, and your ceiling is reinforced to extend the time when the fire will spread. This precautionary measure will enable you and your family to exit safely, and the damage to your home’s structure will not be as bad.

Only a fire-rated downlight can restore your ceiling’s fire integrity. It is made with an intumescent pad that activates when exposed to a specific temperature. This pad then blocks even the tiny crevices the fire may slip through!

The installation of this LED downlight is straightforward and quick as it's designed with everything that streamlines the process! It has a twist and lock mechanism (allowing rapid bulb changes) and push-fit terminal blocks for easy loop-in/out (no need for screws). With this, you can wire each downlight in series instead of individually connecting them to the primary power supply!

Aside from that, it’s mains-powered; therefore, you don’t need to purchase a separate driver or transformer to make it work. All you have to do is plan the position of the fixtures, trim the cut-out hole, wire it directly to the mains circuit, and add a bulb of your choice. That’s it! 

You can use any GU10 bulb with this LED downlight because it's made with a GU10 lamp holder. However, since it's a dimmable fixture, pairing it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch will enable you to utilise its dimming function!

As for the GU10 bulb, it's available in cool white, natural white and warm white light! Cool white and natural white are both ideal for task lighting. The only difference between the two colours is cool white has a crisp bluish tone, while natural white has no shades of blue or yellow. Alternatively, warm white light is suitable for ambient lighting because its yellowish tint can stage a cosy and relaxing vibe!

While some downlights are insulation-coverable, you cannot presume that every model is identical. You must read the product description or packaging and find a remark saying you can cover them with insulation! 

This LED downlight is insulation-coverable, so you can loosely place loft insulation over its rear. However, you can only do this if you use it with a GU10 LED lamp that has a maximum power of 7w. Many cheaper downlights are not insulation-coverable, but this is a crucial feature for your lights to have because insulation allows the heat to exit your home quickly. This will help reduce the heat in your home and lower your electric bill!
