A Rated Light Bulbs

One industry that proliferated from technological advancements is the lighting sector, which managed to produce ultra-efficient lighting like A-rated LED bulbs. These bulbs are by far the most energy-saving light bulbs on the market today, achieving the highest level of light output per watt. With energy-efficient products booming in production, they've ushered in a new wave of sustainability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

In our range of exceptional A-rated bulbs, we offer a wide spectrum of colour temperatures (cool white, natural white and warm white light), lamp bases (E27, B22 and GU10), beam angles, lumens output and power consumption, catering to various lighting needs and applications!

Buying A Rated Light Bulbs

Identifying A-rated LED light bulbs is a walk in the park if you know what to look for. You should find the one that consumes the least energy while producing the same amount of luminance as others. Does this mean you have to scour the entire shop, comparing one bulb to another? Well, that's an option, but there's a more straightforward way - look for the "A" sign on the energy label!

Things to remember when purchasing an A-rated LED bulbs:

  • Examine the energy label. Find the energy label on the packaging. The most efficient bulbs will have an "A" (represents the most efficient).
  • The focal point should be lumens, not watts. Instead of focusing on the bulb's watts, concentrate on the lumens. "A" is the efficiency rating, and lumens will ensure you get the appropriate brightness for your requirements.
  • LED all the way. LED technology is guaranteed to be more energy-efficient than traditional fittings, no matter the energy rating. Before checking the energy label, ensure you have an LED light bulb.
  • Choose the appropriate colour temperature. Sometimes, it's not because the bulb has a low lumen count; it's just that you have the wrong colour temperature. The LED colour plays a significant role in providing the perfect atmosphere in your space. Therefore, it's critical to think it through rather than half-heartedly choosing.
  • Whenever possible, find a dimmable option. Dimming gives you control over the brightness level and improves the bulb's efficiency and longevity.
  • Look for a reliable supplier. Don't be scammed by bulbs that are A-rated on the label but low-rated in real life. To make the most of your money, purchase from trusted suppliers only (like us, Simple Lighting).
  • Check the base. The base of the bulb should match the lamp holder of your light fixture. If you have a GU10 lamp holder, the bulb should have a GU10 base. If it's E27, the bulb should also be E27.

What is an A Rated LED Bulb?

An A-rated LED bulb has achieved the highest energy efficiency rating, with a scale ranging from A to G. Typically, these lights have a luminous efficacy of about 210 lumens per watt, offering the most brilliance at the lowest power. A-rated LED bulbs are regarded as the best in terms of energy-saving capacity.

Key Features of A-rated bulbs:

High Luminous Efficacy

One distinct feature of these ultra-efficient bulbs is their high luminous efficacy, which essentially means the number of lumens per watt. A higher ratio translates to superior efficiency.

A in the Energy Label

Energy labels help you navigate efficiency ratings better. They have a letter scale from A to G and colours from green to red. An A-rated bulb sits at the top, sporting a proud letter A.

Long-Term Cost-Effectiveness

A-rated LED bulbs will have a slightly higher upfront cost than lower-rated bulbs. However, they are more energy-efficient in the long run, offsetting your initial investment.

Are A Rated Bulbs Energy Efficient?

Yes - A-rated bulbs are the most energy-efficient lighting solution available now. In fact, these bulbs are ranked the highest, offering an outstanding energy-to-light conversion.

With the emergence of this lighting product, you can maximise your resources without compromising quality. With a little upfront investment in the transition, you can enjoy long-term energy savings and high-performance lighting.

If you are on the fence about switching to A-rated LED bulbs, here are their benefits:

  • High energy efficiency: Compared to traditional fixtures and lower-rated LED bulbs, A-rated LED lamps use significantly less energy, resulting in a reduced electricity bill.
  • Longer lifespan: These bulbs have a longer lifespan than incandescent and fluorescent lamps. If an incandescent bulb lasts 1,000 hours and a fluorescent lamp lasts 15,00 hours, an A-rated lamp lasts 50,000 hours. This means less replacements.
  • Eco-friendly: A-rated light bulbs have low energy consumption and long lifespan, resulting in fewer greenhouse gas emissions. This significantly reduces your environmental footprint.
  • Cost-savings: Its longer lifespan and energy efficiency contribute to the growth of your long-term cost-savings.
  • Instant illumination: Unlike conventional fluorescent tubes, these bulbs don't need a minute to warm up. When you switch them on, they will instantly light up to their maximum brightness.
  • Durable: Because of their solid-state structure, A-rated LED bulbs have more protection against shocks and unprecedented temperature changes.
  • Versatile: You can get A-rated GU10 bulbs, A-rated E27 bulbs, A-rated B22 bulbs, and others suitable for different applications. In addition to the bases, these fittings vary in colour temperatures, sizes, lumens count, and power consumption.
  • Dimming ability: Most A-rated bulbs are dimmable, providing control over brightness levels. It also helps further reduce energy consumption and increase the bulb's lifespan.

New EU Energy Label Explained

Energy labels have been a staple in appliances and electronic devices for years. They help consumers make informed decisions and encourage manufacturers to improve the efficiency of their products.

Because of the demand for eco-friendly options, the old energy ratings (from A+++ to G) have become less effective. As a result, the energy label is amended and optimised, featuring a more straightforward range of A to G.

Light sources are included in the products to be relabelled, and the transition was initiated in September 2021. Currently, there are fewer A-rated LED bulbs than anticipated. Since the implementation, the highest efficiency rating of the existing light bulbs has been B to E. Nevertheless, it's expected that more ultra-efficient LED bulbs will be developed in the coming years and will bring efficient light to many homes and businesses!
