When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Tilt/Adjustable Downlight
This LED downlight is made with an adjustable gimbal that you can tilt up and down to a certain degree. It’s perfect for rooms with various lighting requirements, like the dining room and kitchen, as it is flexible enough to cater to those needs. Unlike fixed LED downlights that only produce a downward light beam, an adjustable downlight like this can give you more versatility as you design your lighting system!
You can place this LED downlight on top of your kitchen island and pair it with a narrow beam angle to utilise it as task lighting. Also, you can use this lighting fixture to highlight artwork, decorative elements or unique architectural features!
Stunning Polished Chrome Finish with an Open Can Design
If you love styling and restyling your home whenever the seasons change, you’ll love this LED downlight! It’s designed with a stunning polished chrome finish and a simple round bezel, making it bend flawlessly with whatever design scheme you have in mind. Even if you go for a modern interior, a traditional layout or a fusion of both, this LED downlight will not look out of place! Also, this LED downlight has an open-can design, making it more practical as it improves the fixture’s cooling system.
Ceiling lights are more challenging to swap out than floor and table lamps. Therefore, if you want more flexibility with your designs, it’s best to opt for a neutral ceiling fixture. You just can save the customised looks with decorations and fittings that are easier to move and replace!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes; Suitable for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection and is suitable for web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. This means the hole you cut to install your fixture is completely resealed, and your ceiling is reinforced to extend the time when the fire will spread. With this, you and your family will have more time to escape (in this case, 90 minutes), and the damage to your home's structure will not be as bad.
Only fire-rated downlights are equipped with this fire protection because it's designed with an intumescent pad that activates when exposed to a particular temperature. That is why the hole that compromises the ceiling's fire integrity is fully sealed since the pad can block even the tiny gaps!
Works with a GU10 Bulb
You can use this LED downlight with any GU10 bulb because it's designed with a GU10 lamp holder. However, since it's a dimmable fixture, pairing it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch will enable you to utilise its dimming function!
As for the GU10 bulb, you can get it in cool white, natural white and warm white light. Cool white and natural white are both ideal for task lighting. The only difference between the two is cool white has a crisp bluish tone, while natural white has no hints of blue or yellow. Alternatively, warm white light is suitable for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a cosy and relaxing environment!
Quick Installation
Installing this LED downlight is quick and easy since it's made with features that simplify the mounting process! It is constructed with a loop-in/out terminal block with push-fit connectors and a twist-and-lock mechanism that makes bulb changing effortless!
This lighting solution is mains powered; therefore, you don’t have to purchase a separate LED driver or transformer to make it work. All you need to do is plan the positioning of the fixture, trim the cut-out hole, wire your lights directly to the mains circuit and add a bulb! After cleaning up, you can then enjoy your brilliantly illuminated space! Remember always to prioritise your safety. Call for an electrician if you’re unsure what to do and not confident doing the installation yourself.
Insulation Coverable
Since this is an insulation-coverable LED downlight, you can safely put loft insulation loosely over its rear. However, you can only do this if you pair it with a GU10 LED lamp that has a maximum power of 7w. Other downlight models will not allow you to do this, but it is an essential step since insulation helps your home to disperse heat quickly. This will assist in reducing the warmth trapped in your space and lower your electrical bill!
When it comes to recessed fittings, don’t cover them with anything unless there’s confirmation that you can. Read the product description, packaging or technical specification, or consult your supplier or manufacturer directly!
